DC vs KKR: Kolkata bring in Anukul Roy for must-win clash vs Delhi

Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) brought in Anukul Roy for their must-win clash against Delhi Capitals (DC) in Match 48 of the Indian Premier League 2025 (IPL 2025) on Tuesday, April 29 at Arun Jaitley Stadium, Delhi. Captain Ajinkya Rahane informed about the team change after they were put in to bat first by Delhi skipper Axar Patel.

Roy will be playing his first game of the season as he replaces Chetan Sakariya in the playing XI. Sakariya played just one game in the ongoing season against Punjab Kings (PBKS), where he ended up leaking 39 runs in his three overs. Anukul Roy was bought for Rs 40 lakh by KKR in the mega auction.

The left-arm spinner has scalped five wickets in his IPL career from nine innings with best figures of 2/19. Apart from that, he has also scored 26 runs at a strike rate of 108.33. Speaking at the toss, KKR skipper Ajinkya Rahane explained the reasoning behind Anukul’s selection, saying that the left-arm spinner might turn out to be a good option on the Delhi pitch.
