Uddhavs Thackeray Brand Remark Ignites Political Storm In Maharashtra

New Delhi: Shiv Sena (UBT) chief Uddhav Thackeray's recent comments on the "Thackeray brand" and the Election Commission have reignited political tensions in Maharashtra. The MahaYuti alliance has hit back, accusing Thackeray of undermining the very legacy he now claims to uphold.

In a sharp interview published in Shiv Sena’s official mouthpiece on Saturday, Thackeray aimed at Chief Minister Eknath Shinde and the MahaYuti government. “Thackeray is not just a brand; it represents the identity of Maharashtra,” he asserted. “Those who lack substance rely on the Thackeray name to stay relevant.”

Thackeray also criticized the Election Commission, saying, “The EC may have handed over the Shiv Sena’s election symbol, but it had no authority to give away the party’s name.”
